I was voted in as Chair-person of Pompey Tchoukball Club in September 2011, taking the reins from Andrew Wolfe. Both he and Alex French had started Pompey Tchoukball club in 2006, from a very small number of players. Through their development, Tchoukball has flourished in the south of England and I can only thank them both on behalf of all the Pompey tchoukball players, for all they have done for this club.
When accepting this role I knew it would be a challenge to keep the club at the standard it has become. I believe with the help of the committee and all the players, the club will continue to develop and thrive.
A little about me for those that don’t know me, I have been playing tchoukball for 20 years, learning at Cowplain school. Throughout this time I have played tchoukball in France, Switzerland, Italy and Taiwan, not only at club level but also at international level. I have been representing Great Britain in Tchoukball for the past 11 years and a number of those were as the ladies Team captain.
Tchoukball is so different to many other sports and is very quick, at the higher levels. Being able to shoot at either end requires focuseand a good fitness level. All players are both attackers and defenders so players get to learn a range of positions.
If you would like to know more about this unique sport come along to training on Tuesday nights at Portsmouth High School for Girls from 7:30pm - 8:30pm (Beginners) and 8:30pm - 9:30pm (Experienced Adults) or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
